The wetland habitat Vir is located near the settlement Starogradački Marof (Pitomača municipality). It is protected due to rare plant and animal species that live here. It has a constant flow of water from the ground. The most important plant species are: water soldiers (Stratoides aloides), goldenrod (Soidago sp.), frogbit (Hydrocharis morsus-ranae), low bindweed (Calystegia sp.), water lily, duckweed. Rare plant species: Hydrocharo-stratiotetum aloides. Rare and endangered fish species: European mudminnow (Umbra krameri) – endangered at the EU level, followed by crucian carp, tench, roach, spined loach.
